I always loved the alka seltzer commercials, and of course volkswagon.

Be still my heart with #6. Did you notice how not so subtle they were with the change from 2 months salary to 3. Hub's still thankful we got married before that alteration went through!

Those are great ones. I love the "pop, pop, fizz, fizz, oh what a relief it is!"

I can still sing all the words to the Big Mac song and I still love them (as an occasional treat, of course). Still love, love, love them!

I only remember a few (very few) but I enjoy watching those TV shows that show the funniest / most imaginative commercials - I never remember them either !

It's amazing how permanent some advertising can be. Happy TT and thanks for stopping by.

Darla October 11, 2007 at 12:53 PM

oh, fun memories! I did a TT on commercials about a year ago--no overlaps, though. :)

Great list! I'm with Sec. agent Mama, love Nike!

Those were some great ones alright. It's amazing how much ads can become a part of popular culture.

Whenever I hear the classical piece played during the De Beers ads, I still think of diamonds. I suppose that's the sign of an effective campaign.

Some of those have passed into the language: We try harder.

Kathy October 12, 2007 at 10:11 PM

I think I remember some of those ads!
And yes, Max looks like a real person/scarecrow! I didn't even try!
Just returning a visit to my site...have a great weekend!

It's funny how the simple tag lines stick with you. Though I wasn't around for all of them, some are legendary. They've all penetrated into our culture. Very clever.
