Theme Thursday - Before and After
I don't consider myself an expert with photo shop, its still a work in progress. But this week's theme is to show some before and after so here's my attempts at making my pictures better.
Here's a shot of my youngest on a new makeshift backdrop.
Here's my edit. I cropped, lightened and fixed the background. Then I used a cross-process color because I like this look. I also fixed the lens cap that she grabbed a hold of (luckily I was just practicing with these shots).
Here is one more. I thought this shot was cute of V but dark.
I lightened this one and sharpened it only. I liked the crop and colors so I left them pretty much as is.
So I will keep practicing with my edits and hopefully get better (and faster) with my processing.

Wow, I am amazed and impressed. I wish I could do that with Photo shop. I need to get more creative.
Thanks for the beautiful pictures.

Great job! I can never figure out what I am doing with photoshop. Maybe I need to take a class. LOL
Great job! Editing is a learning process. The more you do it, the better you get at it. The pictures that I edited today, if I had edited them a year ago they wouldn't have turned out very well.
Oh, and a suggestion for the backdrop, it is always best to have them not sitting with their back against the backdrop and have a separation. Otherwise they can wrinkle it or cast shadows on it. Have fun in your little studio! :)
nice job! it's nice to have a willing model, even if she is playing with your equipment :)!
Great job fixing the background. What an impact that made. Cutie pie, too.
And adding to Stacy's comment, if you have them sit away from the backdrop, the back can be blurred more so the wrinkles will be not as evident.
Nice job on the edits! I'm still learning, too. I have the added disadvantage of having GIMP. So many Photoshop tutorials but not GIMP.
Aww what a sweet face - Love the editing you did it makes the colors really pop!
These are FANTASTIC. I love how you gave her your lens cover! Did it distract her?
You are so good with PS and processing. I very rarely do much other than convert from RAW, resize and sharpen and sometimes contrast. I have so much to learn and no time all at once. :)
Ah - great job! The first one especially....I love your little "studio" I need to do that. Someday.
I love them!! Great job with the editing! I so stumble my way through it all the time, but I'm addicted. I love Photoshop.
I bought a brand new (in the package) white sheet at the thrift shop last month to make a backdrop - so I'll take some of the advice you got when I use it.
I love that first one! I especially like how the bow and the little oranges and yellows on the jumper just pop out now. Nice job!
