Photo Story Friday: These Old Sandals

Hosted by Cecily and MamaGeek

Trusty Old Sandals

These are my 'black' sandals. I have had them for years. Honestly, I cannot remember exactly how long or when I bought them. But lets just say this. See the stain on the left one? That happened when I was very preggo with my son (6 years ago) and we were all outside enjoying the nice weather eating chocolate ice cream, cause you know when you are really preggo, nothing hits the spot like good chocolate ice cream. Anyway, these sandals were fairly new at that time. It was so hot that night that the ice cream was melting all around the cone and one drip landed square on my sandal. I tried to wipe it up but alas, it stained. So that tells you how old these are. I am always reminded of that incident when I wear these and have fond memories of carrying my first child. I have tried to look for new replacement 'black' sandals to no avail. I just cannot find anything that fits as good, looks as nice and is as comfortable as these. I am quite picky with sandals as I NEED them to have a back, cause clumsy me cannot walk otherwise. The heels are getting so worn and the straps are getting too loose but yet I continue to wear them. The manufacturer of these don't sell this style anymore so I cannot replace them with an exact match. Maybe one day I will find a pair I like as much but until then, I will continue to wear them and hope that they don't break!

I hope you can find something. Although if you've had them for that long and they have those sort of memories attached, whatever you find will be lacking somewhat.

I so know what you mean! My sandals suffered a downpour at Disney, Florida in 2003; they still survive!

I love the color pop in that shot! And oh do I know what you're talking about. I have a pair of shoes that I CAN NOT PART with (but should since they are so 1990s).

But with all those memories, how can you!?!

I love it when things like this have so many memories attached to them.

This is a perfect PSF entry and I LOVE the picture. Shots like this are some of my favorites. I hope you print it and keep it. Especially given the story behind the shoes.

Thanks so much for playing PSF with us!!

It's so hard to find comfy shoes. I don't blame you one bit for hanging on to them.

I can totally relate. I bout a pair of sandels when I was pregnant (4 years ago) and have worn them all the time since. The soles are totally worn, especially at my big toe, and are starting to rip.....But its so hard to find a good paid of "black" sandels!

You sure have gotten your money's worth! There's nothing like a favorite pair of shoes:)

there is nothing better than chocolate ice cream when you are pregnant or a favorite pair of shoes.

I have a pair of similar sandals. They are probably five or six years old and I just can't give 'em up. AND, they look so similar to yours.

All replacements have fallen short.

This is a fantastic shot. Love it!
