Haiku Friday - Momma's an Ass
Poor Little Miss V
the subject of photo
didn't mean to hurt
I put her on stair
to take a quick portrait shot
and snap the camera
just then she falls down
and bounces off the first step
to the hard wood floor
poor girlie hits head
happened fast I couldn't catch
she started to cry
her nose was bleeding
but stopped after a minute
in my arms she stayed
all forgotten now
by her but not by momma
won't do that again!

And here was the picture that I snapped right before she tumbled. It wasn't even that good of a shot. I still feel terrible that I let this happen and that I should know better! Luckily she was only on the second step up. I'm not THAT stupid, well maybe I am. :(

At least you didn't set her on the top step! ;)
kathryn's comment just cracked me up!!
glad she's ok...the picture is adorable!!
glad she's ok. and really, it's not like you put her in whatever the squishy baby chair is - you know the one that was recalled to tell you not to put the baby in high places or something like that - and stuck her on the stove.
well... it resulted in a really cute photo.
and i echo what transplanting me said. ;-)
My boy bounced from very near the top of our staircase all the way down when he was about 16-18 months or so. It was horrifying then, but now we laugh about how he bounces. I think it's a right of passage for babyhood.
great ku and lovely little girl. she looks great in that photo. and when shes older, you can show her the photo and tell her the story of her first tumble down the stairs. she's okay, no need to worry. we've all done something like this.
Oh I like the picture and I would totally do something like that myself - and have but I'm not telling.
She is so adorable...and please forgive yourself...it will pass, just be glad nothing serious happens. Happy Friday!
She's be okay. You know that. Don't beat yourself up. We've all done similar.
An adorable picture and child. I think she'll be fine! But I can relate to your guilt. Grin!
Awww, don't be too hard on yourself. Sometimes we just forget how quickly they move. Glad she is alright, and her photo is really cute. :)
Oh, and your comments keep getting caught in my spam blocker for some reason. Sorry about that! I have them approved now. I will try to be more diligent and check that more.
Don't sweat it.. She's forgotten by now, I'm sure.. I think the picture is sweet, though..even if it's got a bad memory stapled to it.
